No Longer Irish

Irsih flag fading itnto the American one.

This paper was a personal essay I wrote for a class on Post-Colonial literature. Utilizing themes from creative literature on diasporic groups, I compare my cultural identity and experience to those who are considered diasporic. In this essay I touch on how my family used to be part of the Irish diaspora, but I do not identify as diasporic. I touch on the lost of our cultural identity to the congolomerate American identity that is Appalchian culture to explore how I am ethnically Irish but am not so culturally. I find that while that identification is lost, not every aspect of my family's Irish roots is gone.
